I have IRL things I do that I know I could boost the comments on them if I posted to my f-list, but I don't. I just prefer to keep that stuff separate from fandom and this identity. It's kind of annoying sometimes, but in the long run I know it's a good idea.

lol I understand this fear completely. I had a picture taken with a particular musician and posted it online, and a few weeks later I saw my picture cropped into icons and in tumblr photosets. I can't even hate tho, because it was a very pretty picture of this dude. I found it more amusing than anything.

I took some great pictures of an actor during a stage door session and shared them with the fandom. Before the week was out, someone was selling prints of them without permission on eBay. So...yeah.
