dude this was my first obsession
I wish they would re-release those old flashes as like...a web miniseries or something. the characters were actually pretty good and the toys were so much fun to build.

but yeah getting back to your secret, I think you're probably out of luck; I'm guessing that anyone in the established fandom was like 12 when they started writing for it. welp.

The flashes are on BIONICLEsector01, as well as download links to the Mata Nui Online Games I and II. MNOG II's even completely playable again! (Not that I tested it or anything... twice... and spent an ungodly amount of time carrying rocks around just so I could actually run in Kohlii games without getting tired every ten seconds...)

I completely disagree with you! I was ten. (With the appropriately ridiculous stories which I still have saved somewhere for reasons probably amounting to a combination of nostalgia and hoarding.)

If it was obvious that everyone was young I'd probably be less annoyed, but they're not and I'm not. (The smut is hopefully written only by adults, at least.) Having maybe a thousand 'fics total means that the 10% good stuff remaining once you toss the 90% from Sturgeon's Law is about a hundred fics, all of which I've read, and then it's cliché after 'girl/boy (probably a girl) falls into Bionicle world!' after 'high-school fanfic!' after 'chatroom fanfic!' after 'everyone's human but still has their powers and the story wouldn't really change if they weren't...' after '...because we're still making NC-17 fanfics for a G-PG fandom even if we keep 'em robots' and there are a few diamonds but due to how slowly new fics are posted I'd have better luck finding more diamonds if I made them. Probably I'm spoiled by fandoms like Harry Potter where even though Sturgeon's Law still holds the ten percent is in the tens of thousands and the post rate is a lot faster, so I can always go through and find something good I haven't read yet.

Ehhhh... Anyway. Sorry for ranting all over this reply. I swear it just started out with pointing you towards the flashes and a jokey 'your argument is invalid because you made one generalization that doesn't change the basic theme of 'they're young writers they're still learning''. Feel free to ignore everything after the second paragraph.

BIONICLE! My younger brother played with the toys and I didn't care for the films (1st = Indiana Jones/LOTR rip-off, 2nd = Star Wars prequels rip-off, 3rd = Pirates of the Caribbean rip-off), but I seriously loved the comics series, at least until they switched artists and I couldn't look at the art work any more. I love the Metru Nui prequel Toa characters a bit more than the originals, maybe because their masks had more complex powers.

And now I want to grab my brother's visual guides and leaf through them...
