(Same person, just anon.) No, not just gay characters in comics. Gay couples with an ongoing functional relationship where something horrible hasn't happened to anyone yet. I don't know how people can find it boring because it's one of very very few. If I add those from your list that qualify, that makes maybe five or six that I'm aware of, with Billy and Teddy being most recent, which I imagine is somewhat behind their popularity.

That's not really fair. Horrible things happen to all couples in comics. Unless it's an old standard family like the Richards there's almost no chance a couple won't be separated by one thing or another. If you want to read comics about stable long lasting relationships cape comics aren't really good for anyone.

They killed off one half of the only relationship in YA I had any interest in in the last issue of Children's Crusade.

The only safe young character is a cancelled book young character.
