It depends on how you look at it. The secret itself was more directed towards people who aren't interested in doing anything with themselves beyond just immersing themselves in fandom. Some people honestly stunt their own growth just by refusing to step outside their houses to try something new. Everyone is different.

I think it's more rewarding to step outside of fandom and meet new people and experience new things (especially if fandom is holding you down, as I indicated in the secret). Sometimes the greatest situations in someone's life can happen outside of sitting at the computer and chatting with people. But if you can pair the both of them up (fandom and RL), then more power to you. Some people can't do that, and they end up glued to their computer seat, letting all of their time drain away uselessly. That is more of what the secret is about. And if fandom isn't holding you down, then it's totally fine in my opinion to enjoy it.
