Except beastiality isn't the same as furries. Nice try though.

It kinda is. I know the furries hate it when someone points it out, and try and deny it, but the fetish speaks for itself. If you need to dress up in a fox costume to fuck, then you're pretty clearly fantasising about fucking an animal. Its why so few places allow furry conventions, so disturbing to see two guys dressed as cats or foxes fucking each other. Even worse when you hear something yowl.

Except there are furries who are into bestiality (and I think anyone who fantasizes about fucking animals is into bestiality, even if they're "not really doing it") and furries who aren't. I'm not a furry myself, but I thought the point was that a furry wants to be a real animal, not necessarily fuck one.

Being a furry as a whole is closely entwined with bestiality, but it's not the same.

I think anthropomorthic animals are different from real animals though.It doesn't seem like wanting to fuck a fox so much as wanting to fuck a human with fox features.

I think the difference is human sentience. A "furry" creature still has the mind of a human, and an animal, obviously doesn't.
