Romana, Jamie and Donna are my favorites. I also liked Rory a lot, but he's not a favorite. I think the show would be nothing without the companions, but I love both the doctor and the companions equally.

The villains are also part of what makes DW so fun. I'm still waiting for the new series to introduce a new incarnation of the Rani (even though I know no-one will compare to Kate O'Mara) .

I ♥ Romana. I used to dress as her for conventions.

1) because woo equal marriage and 2) that would make this secret so much less skeevy.

a woman liking the companions isn't any less "skeevy" than a guy doing it, though. there's still some objectifying involved (at worst).

I don't see how either one is skeevy? I mean, we are human. If OP finds the women in the show attractive and that's a main reason for watching... I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm sure I've set through some movies just for the hot male eye candy. :P

I find it somewhat skeevy too

I mean I know that's part of the point of the female companions, and you're entitled to watch something just for cheap sexual thrills I guess, but it still feels weird to me. Maybe I just don't really get why people do that instead of watching porn instead. If you don't care at all about the plot of Dr Who, its better because there are naked parts!

I'm not a Whovian, but isn't that one of the points of the Companions? (I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that you're a straight dude). I thought the Companions were partly there to broaden the appeal to dads and husbands who might otherwise find the sci fi elements cheesy.

Yeah, pretty much. They certainly don't have Amy wearing mini-skirts all the time because it's practical.

I definitely agree; the one thing I really like about New!Who is just how much it makes the story about the companions, which is IMO the more interesting POV.

I disapprove of the lack of Donna and Sarah Jane in this pic. Otherwise, eh, carry on.

I love Ten and Nine a lot.

But in the end, it's always the companions' stories that captivate me the most, especially Rose, Martha and Donna.

From Classic Who, I also really loved Ace a lot too.

Leeeeelaaaaa. Don't worry OP, I love the companions so much I named my kitten Leela Pond. XD Though she does like to bite first and ask questions later, so the personality is spot on so far. XD

I'm more immediately drawn to the companions rather than the Doctor(s). When he regenerates it takes me a while to get used to him and I'm always questioning #__ wouldn't have done that! #__ would've handled that better, etc... etc...

For the past few years I've been working on watching all of Doctor Who in chronological order, beginning with 'Spearhead from Space.' I would just like to express my glee that you included Jo because she gets a bad rap with some people who clearly haven't actually watched her episodes and thus do not appreciate her brilliance. She's not my favorite, but I do adore her <3

Really, I wouldn't say I hate any of them. Well, Adric and Tegan run me up walls, but the rest are fine.
