Long ago, before Matt/Juan, before the "canon yaoi," this fandom was a happy place. A good, God-fearing fandom. We worked hard at our characterization. We put many an hour into our fanarts. But at the end of the day, ah, at the end of the day it was all worth it. We were a small fandom, small but happy. There were no ship wars, no Franziska cutter fics, and buttsecks was tasteful, and generally in character. People didn't crosspost their TWO FUCKING ICONS to the FUCKING SMUT COMMUNITY THAT IS FOR SMUT.

But then, lad, then the dark times came.
