Post-apocalyptic and dystopian are my some of favorite genres, but I have a hard time remembering the names of the movies I watch!
A Boy and his Dog (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072730/) immediately comes to mind.
Italy and Australia pumped a lot post-apocalyptic car/motorcycle type movies out in the '70's and '80's; the really crappy, exploitation types. If you aren't too picky with the quality is would try the "exploitation" genre.
Hmmm, Equilibrium (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/) gets some shit for being ridiculous, but I think it's a pretty cool movie.
Oh, and The Dark Backward (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101660/), Judd Nelson's (and Bill Paxton's) best role ever!
Here's a few more that I like (check imdb.com):
Hell Comes To Frog Town A Quiet Earth Phase 7 Logan's Run Six String Samurai The City of Lost Children Death Race 2000 (1975 version, not the prequel from 2008) Dark City Motorama Bronx Warriors The Warriors
