Rec meme! You ask for recs, and others provide (or fill!).

Maybe there's something you'd really like to see but you can't find it. Why not ask for help? It might be out there! Or maybe there's something you really loved reading and you want someone to geek over it with. Why not rec it to someone else? Maybe they'll love it too! Who knows, someone out there might be looking for something that sounds exactly like someone you know just created.

Don't feel bad about reccing your own stuff, either! Apparently someone else wants to see it, right?

Can anyone rec me anything with a relationship where the characters slowly "grow together", starting off from a working relationship / cohabitation / casual sex and developing into a codependent relationship that nothing else can compare to and that they couldn't leave behind even if they tried? I'd appreciate fic recs as well as recs for any kind of fiction that might feature such a relationship!

I can't immediately think of any specific fic (I'm bad with titles), but Sherlock fandom is full of this trope. That's if you don't mind slash of course. If you prefer het, I think Mulder/Scully might be something for you.

Slash, femmeslash and het are all fine with me! And Mulder and Scully are one of the big reasons I'm into this trope in the first place. :D I've only seen the first series of Sherlock so far, but I've been meaning to get around to the second one as well as check out the fandom, and now I definitely need to, so thank you!

Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but zanoranna's "Sweetheart" 'verse (it's soccer/football RPF, but it's also mafia!AU, so don't worry about knowing player backgrounds) might be up your alley.

Oh I love Metal Heart. Barney/Robin is actually my only active ship at the moment, so this is a wonderfully appropriate rec, anon! :D I'll have to do a reread now.

And I must say that another one of my all-time favourite fics is another B/R fic which uses this particular trope: fool me once, fool me twice (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5682803/1/fool_me_once_fool_me_twice) by hyacinthian. If you're not familiar with it, you should give it a shot. It's really wonderfully written.
