Oh. My. Gosh. I swear I thought I was the only person in the world who got scared closing their eyes in the shower.

Not being in Pokemon fandom I can't identify with your coping method, anon, but you have given me hope that I am not irretrievably damaged in the head. Thank you!

...ok, so now I just need to find a similar coping method. Good luck with that one, self.

i was just going to write this exact comment. i thought i was the only one!! also when i wash my face, i'm scared of what i'll see in the mirror when i lift my head.

You're both not alone! I hang out on /x/ and there's TONS of discussions and creepy stories about people being scared of showers and bathroom mirrors.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-31 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't believe I'm not the only one scared of this. I'll try it!

[identity profile] tekiraboshi.livejournal.com 2012-03-31 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I was worried I was the only one thinking this - too cute, OP! x)

[identity profile] othellia.livejournal.com 2012-03-31 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Very nice, anon. I admit I'm still scared to open my mirror-covered medicine cabinet and close it at night (or look down then up) when I'm brushing my teeth because of horror movies.

Not sure if there's a pokemon cure for that though...

[identity profile] fictionalbf.livejournal.com 2012-03-31 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
UGH SAAAAME

[identity profile] streetcake.livejournal.com 2012-03-31 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I have occasional moments of paranoia in the shower like this. Though, Drifloons scare me too. :c

Also, this is really cute OP. :)

[identity profile] milkcracker.livejournal.com 2012-03-31 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I take it that Psycho was among the scary movies?

Anyway, that's cute OP.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Probably The Grudge and not Psycho. There's, ah, a lovely showering with the ghost scene.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! And then there's Stephen King's It, of course.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
And Dark Water.

[identity profile] milkcracker.livejournal.com 2012-04-01 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, now that you mention it I remember that lovely scene. The Grudge/Ju-On movies are good at making you paranoid about showering, your sink or your bed.

[identity profile] swaggerdoodle.livejournal.com 2012-04-01 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
OH GOD. Seriously, for the past month or so every time I take a shower and have to close my eyes while washing my hair or my face I always wonder if I'm going to open my eyes and find someone or ~something standing there watching me. D=

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Imagining a spirit-stealing ghost is in the shower with you helps you feel better? o_0

I admit I don't get it, but hey, whatever works for you.

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
It tugs on the hands of children to steal them away. However, it gets pulled around instead.

Drifloon's Pearl Pokedex entry. Compared to other ghost type Pokemon, Drifloons sound like the most harmless ones. xD

[identity profile] vicfrankenstein.livejournal.com 2012-04-01 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I always think I'm going to see slenderman when i look through the weird half-opaque shower curtain. You know, I might try out your method next time I worry. Thanks!

(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
I'm also scared of closing my eyes in the bathroom for Reasons.

This is very cute and a great coping method, I think!

[identity profile] laifan.livejournal.com 2012-04-01 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, that was just so me after watching The Grudge. I watched that movie ages ago and sometimes I still remember that shower scene...when I'm in the shower fml. I just pray that whatever scary things don't like my flowery shower curtain =D

[identity profile] starianprincess.livejournal.com 2012-04-01 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Reason why I don't normally watch horror films. Don't worry, anon, you're not alone! I get paranoid every so often when I have to make sure all the windows are locked, whenever I look into mirrors after washing my face, or like you, when I'm showering. :( I also have this obsessive compulsive urge to check if my bathroom door is closed, even when I know it is.
