...Dude, maybe it's just me but that reads way too close to the 'selfish' argument or guilt trip I've seen used before. So, I'm just going to respond to that but...No. There is no real reason for them to think about how much someone else is being 'hurt' by the fact they're no longer into a fandom/series/whatever, beyond *maybe* breaking it to them gently.
