Oof. I remember being torn between pride at seeing a Cajun character, and pain at the horrible accent. "Cherie?" Really? I have never heard anyone say that.

I seem to remember one time at a Louisiana con, we had two voice actors at a panel. One from down here, and the other a guy who had voiced Gambit. It was a small-ish con, so basically the attendees and the other VA spent the entire time picking on the Gambit VA and trying to explain the difference between a Cajun accent and a Shreveport accent.

Oh, that poor man. If the actress voicing Rogue had been there (Shugah? Eeesh.) it would have been a slaughter.

Ah geeze, I tried watching an episode the other day, the one where Rogue starts getting Carole Danvers' memories and all, and I swear, "shugah" was the least problematic thing. She would not. Stop. Squeaking.
