I wonder what scale your brother is judging it on though...? I've heard many, many people and even critics say it's actually a really good game and better than XIII. I don't have the money for it right now though sadly... I want it.

I'm not sure either, to be honest. He just said the plot made no sense and certain character involvements felt gratuitous, but he's never been big on timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly stuff, so maybe it wasn't as confusing as he made out. I was going to play it eventually anyway because of my big ol' girlcrush on Lightning, but now I want to play it... sooner. >_>

I think it's better than XIII, tbh. You should give it a shot! I like the characters just fine and the chance for some good ol' exploration. I had trouble with XIII because of its extreme linearity.
