Maybe it's not mentioned because it's considered default. You don't mention when people have hair or nails, only when they don't.

True, but so much attention is paid to genitals in adult slash fic, in a way that isn't to hands, to be comparable to fingernails. It seems odd to not at least mention it briefly whilst talking about the other parts of the genitalia. So many fics have mentions of testicles, the perineum, the head, the slit, and so on, it just makes the foreskin really conspicuous in its absence.

Well, I haven't read those fics, but I would guess the foreskin would be less noticeable because it was retracted. Erection causes foreskins to retract.

And others would know better than me how it was in the U.K., but my lower class, Australian father was circumcised. I think it may have been a catholic thing, I'm not sure.

Although, now that I think about it, pubic hair is hardly ever mentioned either, and I somehow doubt the characters are the type to shave off their pubic hair! So I guess maybe you're right about it not being mentioned because it's just the default.

I'm the anon you were replying to. Yeah, I know some fics go into a lot of detail, so I guess it should be mentioned more, but default for me is uncut and I never thought about mentioning it (when writing) or lack of mention (when reading) unless it's a detailed oral scene. And even then it slips my mind a lot. I guess foreskin is just a fact for people used to it, not something you pay any mind to.
