For me at least, the biggest problems with ginny are in book six. She's pretty awesome in the other books. But the way she talks to people and some of her actions (flying into Zachariah on her broom just because he insulted the Gryffindor team). Oh, and the way she basically approved of Harry using the HBP book to cheat. One of the few movie changes that I actually though made things better was how they had her act in relation ot the book. But then again, several characters were pretty OOC in book 6. Just not as bad as GInny. I do love her in the other books, though.

Yeah, but come on, things like flying into Zachariah happened throughout the entire Harry Potter series with MANY other characters, the vast majority of which were NOT Ginny. Like, I don't know, the Weasley twins almost killing Dudley with one of their Ton Tongue Toffees.

Apparently it's hilarious when they almost kill someone, but when Ginny does something like *GASP!* FLY INTO SOMEONE WITH A BROOM, omfg what a bitch she can't do that?

Shit like that happen all the time in Harry Potter books. It's silly that Ginny is somehow a huge bitch for it.

Oh, I can't stand the Weasley twins. I don't think their pranks are remotely funny. They do it through the entire series. I like Ginny in all the books but 6. It is precisely because she doesn't do those sorts of things in the other books that it strikes me as rather out of character and frustrated me. And I wouldn't call her a bitch because I wouldn't use that term to describe any character.

Why is that when someone says that they dislike Ginny for reason X, Ginny fans assume that the person must love male character Y even though X applies to them too?

I don't like Ginny. One of the reasons is that Zachariah scene. I fucking hate the Weasley twins because they were even worse.

...Actually, you could replace "Ginny" with "female character" in that first sentence and my point would still stand. If I dislike a female character for X, you can bet that I'd dislike a male character for X, too.
