I guess I might be biased. Couldn't really give a crap about any of the HP ships, but I know a bunch of people who used to like Harry/Hermione and were calm & reasonable about it. Plus, it's just a weird thing to have in the book. Our generation's kids are probably going to be reading this thing (at least because I'm guessing a lot of us will want to try to get our kids into it XD) If she wants to tell off her harassers, that's really awesome actually. It's just weird to think of that scene still existing in the future, when everyone's forgotten the ship wars and the context for why she did that is gone... and it's just a very odd scene where Ron's motivations come from nowhere because it was such a non-issue in the first place. That's why I think it's petty, I guess.
