You also just described half of Naruto yaoi fanfiction, too. If it's a pretty girl, it will get lame het fans (but awesome ones, too). If it's a pretty boy, it will be overdone in the fandom, but also get lame and embarrassing fics.

However, I would rather it be a girl. And ship her with Gai, because he'd think the flower in her hair would be so youthful~

I tend to avoid fanfiction for Naruto at all. That's lame of me, but I only read it if it's rec'd.
