10: No offense, but please don't. There's already so much shitty SasuNaru out there where the fics could be about anyone...maybe you're a decent writer in terms of structure or grammar, but the really good pairing stories -- in any fandom, IMHO -- are written by people who *get* the characters, who *believe* they'll wind up together and want to show us how.

Write your favorite pairings; hell, write gen! But please don't think you're doing the fandom any favors by writing more clichéd generic Popular Pairing Fic. It just makes it harder for the actual fans of the pairing to find the stories worth reading.

I /do/ write gen and my favorite pairings. Nobody reviews, which led me to try SasuNaru.

I /do/ feel guilty about it. I know theres so much shit for them and its not fair of me to write something I'm not big on. This isn't doing the fandom a favor, this is me being horribly selfish. I guess all I can say is I'm sorry. Maybe I'll be able to accept one day that nobody wants what I really enjoy writing and be happy with my 3 reviews.

you aren't alone feeling this way. I recently submitted a secret (which may get posted next week) that says almost the same thing.

It just makes it harder for the actual fans of the pairing to find the stories worth reading.

can't tell that by the number of reviews they get.
