5: Honestly, judging people by their clothes is bad. Yes, I can see the point of going "wow, he hasn't washed his shirt in weeks, better stay away." But the "omg I dress like a pretty real woman?" is rather offensive. I wear shirts and jeans for the most part, not because I'm too sloppy or uncaring to put on the latest little black dress, but because I see myself as male.

I'm tired of seeing people conflate fashion and style with personal hygiene, because someone can be unstylish and/or individualistic and still be a cool person who's just fine with society aside from shallow people. Someone who has multiple, serious personal hygiene issues unexplained by health issues or a momentary lapse (e.g. the greasy-haired stinking person in unwashed clothes in everyday life, not the person with bad breath and slept-in clothes at a con, since there *are* some people who camp out or share with a lot of friends to save money) likely has some major mental health/adjusting to society issues.

Thanks. ^_^ (for some TMI, I'm only just beginning to get into dressing somewhat nicely since, for so many years, I equated appearance with being a prettier girl, which I didn't want to be, and so yeah, I'm in the shirt and jeans crowd. I'm also overweight (which I plan to work on changing, but I can't change overnight >_<))

While I'm definitely no prize as a person yet, that doesn't mean I'm not working toward self-improvement and it doesn't mean I'm a stereotypical freakshow. *headdesk* It means I'm admittedly ugly for now, and if someone truly can't see past that it's sad.
