this. religion is usually a life-long commitment whereas fandom interests come and go regardless of how much they affect you. i think perhaps only the likes of the star trek fandom could possibly, seriously contend as a lifestyle choice seeing as it's been around for a pretty long time and people are still feverishly into it.

the op srsly just needs to tell her friend to back off about pushing religion. it's really not as hard it seems to tell a Christian friend that religion isn't something you like talking about/or into. if they're reasonable and a true friend, they'll back off. just don't make the mistake of comparing religion and fandom. all that's gonna do is seriously offend them and possibly end your friendship.
