It would have to be a bit more than pot that would make the protagonists of Silent Hill behave to the extreme that they do, which is why I'm a lot happier with the complete and total mental collapse idea.

But I could see your point, Henry was obnoxiously mellow and at ease with the shit that was going on around him. Lovely character, I just could never picture him raising his voice for anything ever.

Have any of these people ever been high? Seriously. Pot =/= ohgodeverythingtryingtokillyou. The worst I've seen/heard of was being really afraid of cops and hiding in the closet, but I think it might have also been that it was really fun to be in there!

Unless it's pot with other things, but that's not really the pot, it's the other things.

Lol yeah, I never meant that Henry was high and that's why he saw all the SH 4 monsters. More like Henry is high, goes into the hole to find some munchies, and SH 4 is already waiting in the darkness for him. But Henry being his fabulous baked self reacts in his stoner ways.

I think it's more because of the character than the pot. As in, OP isn't saying he's seeing all of that stuff because he's high; he's reacting TO all the weird crap he's seeing in the game in such a way that there has to be some sort of downer-drug-like substance altering his mood. He's so ridiculously calm throughout everything, I wouldn't be surprised if he was high on pot the whole time.

If someone made that connection with the protagonists of the other games, I'd say "no way, if they were on something it would HAVE to be a really rancid batch of acid + speed injected directly into their eyeballs" or something. But Henry is just...I don't remember his voice changing for anything, ever. It's like he's a robot. Even Harry Mason had more emotion when it came to reacting to all the shit going on around him, and the voice acting in the first game is infamous for being...amusing at best.

idk about you, but weed definitely has a habit of making people paranoid. like, hilariously paranoid. I think it fits the SH mentality pretty well.
