Why? I'm honestly curious. The bronies I know were mostly relieved because they don't want to share her with non-bronies.

Basically they think "brony" = young male MLP:FiM fan, and everyone else are "non-bronies". They consider Derpy and the surrounding fanon part of what makes bronies awesome, so they want her to stay "brony-exclusive".

I hope I made it clearer? Their logic is a bit confusing.

Huh, interesting. That doesn't really apply to the bronies I know, so I'm guessing it's a subset of bronies. (Also, aren't they right about what constitutes a brony? I mean unless there are old male MLP fans somewhere but I've never met one...)
