Ya know - I actually did stick to genfic and pretty tame stuff up until about 17. He might just like exploring the universe quite innocently now, and it seems you're keeping an eye on him.

And you know...a day will come when your son will probably read smut. But guess what - that's normal for teen boys.

I think you're doing well: all you can do is to try and guide him and protect him from the very bad cesspools. All in all, it's better not to forbid it, but to supervise it, so it's out in the open and you can discus it even IF he should at some point come across a fic he finds disturbing.
