It's an incredibly inoffensive song. Lyrics are "It's Friday, it's Friday, gotta get down on Friday" and walks through a typical morning - rising, eating cereal, going to the bus stop, seeing her friends in a car, deciding whether to sit in the front or the back seat, and going to school. Part of what people complain about with the song is that it is vapid and bland - to which, so what? Lots of songs have catchy beats (like Friday) and boring lyrics. But Rebecca Black's song was an earworm. People vented angrily about it, getting really vicious and hating on the artist, calling her horrible names and saying awful things about her talent or lack thereof. But what did she do to hurt them? Nothing. She just wrote a catchy song that went viral. She never claimed it was the best thing ever, but she was treated horribly over it.
