(Anonymous) 2012-05-07 04:02 am (UTC)(link)What are they acting so "entitled" to? The right to not be friends with absolutely everybody that tries to talk to them? The right to tell others they're uncomfortable?

(Anonymous) 2012-05-07 04:13 am (UTC)(link)...Maybe it's the fact that they're actually referring to themselves as BNFs in the first place.
....Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they act like they're celebrities and complain about people "hero worshipping" them when it's usually, like, five people at most.
I think this tumblr post explains it best: http://fwugradiation.tumblr.com/post/13149823006/bnf

(Anonymous) 2012-05-07 04:18 am (UTC)(link)Except it's OP who called them BNFs first? There only are like... three people actually calling themselves "BNFs" in this thread.
Nobody is arguing that a BNF gets special rules. Everybody is agreeing that all people have the right to disengage with people they would rather not speak with. Nobody's saying the BNF is allowed to be a jerk, but are saying that depending on what OP did, which isn't clear, it may or may not be justified. But there's no way to tell.
I'm not a BNF myself, but I feel it's justified to be horrified when people say things like they want to violently rape you out of adoration, which somebody else mentioned above. What the fuck even.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-07 04:24 am (UTC)(link)And then you proceed to do the exact same thing in your comment where you accuse the people in this thread of being BNFs. The post you link is all about how the concept of BNF as a whole is stupid. That's not at all what you are saying with your "THEY ARE SUCH JERKS!!" bit. And it's by Radiation, he...he was dating a "BNF" I don't understand why you think his post is about how popular fandom people are automatically stuck-up and terrible. It's about how stupid it is to ascribe that title to anyone/yourself, let alone give them special authority or worship them like OP was apparently doing.
And maybe not a lot of people are actually worshiping them, but the OP presents a situation wherein their actual dialog is pretty hero-worshippy. So it would seem appropriate in this situation, I think, to tell someone to treat you more normally, especially if it made you uncomfortable.
Honestly as a whole your rant is really off-topic for this secret.
