My favorites were Little Women and, oh... I don't remember the English titles of the rest, sorry, but I don remember them to be great adaptations of the literary counterparts. I wish someone kept doing similar series like those now...

Romeo's Blue Skies. I recommend everyone with even a passing interest in World Masterpiece Theater to watch Romeo's Blue Skies. One of my two favorite anime series ever. Not terribly subtle in a lot of things but still made me bawl like a baby.

I aim for this as well, but not all of them are available in languages that I know. Right now I'm watching Tom Sawyer, and I've got a Little Women DVD box waiting for me. My favourite so far is Perrine because it hits so many story tropes that I love.

I really wish there was a World Masterpiece Theater series about Rudyard Kipling's Captains Courageous. It would be a perfect story for something like this, and it's one of my favourite books.
