Why isn't it healthy? We get inspiration from lots of places, use fictional characters as role models all the time. If it motivates you to get the help you need, I don't see the problem.

Some people interpret BBC Watson as a pretty messed up guy who only appears stable relative to Sherlock because he's better at social interaction.

Nevertheless, I agree with your last sentence. OP: if it helps then it helps.

I don't watch the show, but simply based on that I still don't see why it would be unhealthy to use him as a role model in this case. It doesn't really matter how messed up Watson may or may not be, if OP can look at him and say "If he can do it, I can do it" about making a likely positive change for themselves, more power to them.

I've been in fandom since I was 9/10 and I'm now 20. I lied about my age until I was 16 which is the legal age in my country. Although even though I was on the internet I was fairly innocent and wasn't all that interested in smut fic until a few years ago so I mainly just lied so when I discussed the fandoms I was in so my opinions wouldn't be looked down upon for my age.
