no subject
one time when I was a child my dad brought one inside in a jar (it didn't look like that one, it was a different species that was brown and looked more like a stick) so I could look at it. Of course since I was in the 2nd grade I thought I could keep it as a pet and I expected it to still be alive when I woke up, but when I got up the next morning to bring it with me to school, of course it was dead inside of the jar. I got SO UPSET and was like, crying uncontrollably about it all the way to school. When I got there, my teacher told me I should write a story about it so I did (she was big into having the students write "picture books" and I kinda wish I still had all of them).
Sorry for the tl;dr and getting emotional over an insect
