I totally agree. The fact that it was Terry Pratchett himself who suggested him as Aziraphale (and that Neil Gaiman kind of agreed) makes me want to curl up and cry :|

(in my head the actor who'll play Aziraphale should have a rounder and softer face, sort of common/down-to-earth-looking and very kind. I don't know enough actors to pick one for him, though...)

Is there actually going to *be* a GO movie? I have not heard that at all......

[identity profile] chaosmyth.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
not a movie, a miniseries! if I remember correctly Neil Gaiman confirmed it recently, and it's supposed to come out in 2013?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

*twirls*

[identity profile] chaosmyth.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
ikr, I nearly cried when I read that there FINALLY was an airing year and more info on who's going to work on it, instead of the usual "yes, a series is on the works just stay tuned and maybe in ten years' time you'll know more about it"

[identity profile] gillianinoz.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Let's see, Hugh Grant as Aziraphale, Jude Law as Crowley. Charles Dance as Famine, Tom Felton as Pollution, Jeremy Irons as Death, Elliott Tittensor as Newton, Tom Baker as Shadwell, Kate Beckinsale as War, Celia Imrie as Madame Tracy.

Kinda lost as to Anathema - don't know many English actresses her age.

Death of the Author means that they're wrong. ;)

(Same! Like, the closest I can think of is Martin Freeman, but he's not quite right either...)

[identity profile] chaosmyth.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
(I thought about Martin Freeman too! He's not *perfect* as Aziraphale, but if no better option presents itself, I'd gladly have him ;D)

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Only then people would insist that Cumberbatch = Crowley, and I really can't see that either. |D

[identity profile] chaosmyth.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
the Sherlock effect XD But yeah, I can't see him as Crowley either...

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yep.

(Though, speaking of Sherlock, I could almost maybe kind of see RDJ as Crowley. Again, though, almost maybe.)

[identity profile] chaosmyth.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
(mmm, if I squint I can kind of see it?) My more-or-less headcanon for Crowley is Ioan Gruffudd, though, mostly based on the fact that he looks good in sunglasses and with short dark hair (that is how I imagine Crowley's hair to be). Also, is face is suitably angular but not *too* pointy, if I make any sense XD (I can't say anything about him as an actor because I saw him only in Hornblower - and I loved him there - but it was a long time ago XD).

I was looking at Aziraphale fanarts just now and suddenly Robert Sean Leonard came to my mind... idk, he has that nice/earnest/open/youthful face without actually being young, and it sort of fits with my image of Aziraphale.

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I think my only problem with Ioan Gruffudd is that I've only ever seen him in The Secret of Moonacre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_Moonacre), and he really wasn't very Crowley-ish at all. |D

Man, you know who'd I'd love to see somewhere in GO? Rufus Sewell. IDEC who he plays, I just want to see him. ♥___♥

You know, I could almost go for RSL. Almost. :D

...please don't talk about Death of the Author about Pterry. *chinwobble*

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
No, see, you don't understand. Terry Pratchett is going to live forever.

/is very happy in their Egyptian river thankyouverymuch
