I KNOW THAT FEEL

I KNOW THAT FEEL

Though I'm sure I'll know it harder once I see The Wire because it gets to show him do ALL THE THINGS. Or so I hear.

[identity profile] agnes-bean.livejournal.com 2012-05-10 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gosh, YES. The Wire is actually precociously why I feel that way. One of the best performances as one of the best characters on one of the best shows ever. HE IS SO GOOD.

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
YES YES YES SDLKGKDJHG

That's pretty much how Luther made me feel despite Alice Morgan being my queen. So I can only imagine what The Wire is gonna be like, omg.

Oh man. As long as you don't mind him basically being a bad guy (but, like, one of the most interesting and in some ways sympathetic bad guys of all time), it is going to be the BEST THING. I can't even imagine how much fun it would be discovering Stringer Bell while ALREADY being an Idris Elba fan.

-- Is kind of jealous that you get to experience it for the first time [/weird]

I LOVE BAD GUYS THAT ARE ALSO GENUINELY SYMPATHETIC. Dexter was my jam when Julie Benz was on it (Dex, Doakes, etc). And, like, a good chunk of the Romans in Spartacus: Sex & Violence. Which doesn't even delve into my love of Disney villains that aren't actually super sympathetic in text. (Oddly enough, Draco Malfoy doesn't do much for me anymore.)

AND IDRIS WILL MAKE THIS SO MUCH BETTER OH MAN OH MAN

I know that one, that's how I'm feeling right now since two of my favorite people on the internet are finally getting into the Buffyverse AND I HAVE A LOT OF FEELS FOR THOSE SHOWS~

Okay. I don't even know you, but I am like 95% sure you're going to think Stringer Bell is the greatest thing, WHICH IS BECAUSE HE IS. (Do you happen to like truly amazing bromances? Because it's not a spoiler to say he has an amazing one of those, too. Seriously one of the best on TV. I CAN'T with this character).

I know that one, that's how I'm feeling right now since two of my favorite people on the internet are finally getting into the Buffyverse

Oh, yes. Buffyverse is another one that gives me that feeling. It's like "you're going to have SO MUCH FUN."

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY SWEET BABBY JESUS, I AM GOING TO LOVE THIS SHOW TILL I CAN'T LOVE ANYMORE. You don't even know, I thrive on bromances/sismances for more than just the queer subtext, they're just so, I love superclose friendships and always will. (Oh, oh, oh, for more sympathetic baddies: GoT's Cersei if only because she's the HBIC and I want her and Dany to have a Bitchface Off at some point in the future. I'm having trouble really connecting with the Greyjoys and Jaime, however.)

AND THEN BE CRUSHED WITH SADNESS. For real, rewatching episodes with Tara leave me wanting to bawl my eyes out because she just so genuinely good and Alyson Hannigan's tears are my tears.

Okay. So I will freely admit that I am one of THOSE Wire fans. You know, the ones who are all "it's the best show ever," and "everyone should watch it" and "if everyone watched it we could all fix America, you guys!" And I realize that is not actually true for everyone. But you? Are going to fucking love it. Because beyond Stringer & Avon's bromance for the ages, awesome friendships are just fucking everywhere on the show. While it's not very like most cop shows, it definitely keeps the "buddy partners" dynamic with a lot of different pairs, and it is excellent stuff all around.

AND THEN BE CRUSHED WITH SADNESS. For real, rewatching episodes with Tara leave me wanting to bawl my eyes out because she just so genuinely good and Alyson Hannigan's tears are my tears.

OH yeah. For sure. Their pain is my pain! I also have fun with that with ASOIAF -- both with people only watching the show, and with my friends who caught up with the books after me. I spent a LOT of time over the last year just laughing to myself as various people I know had their hearts ripped out over that series.

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
YES YES YES YES THIS IS GOOD AND EVERYONE SHOULD FEEL GOOD. It's why I love Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, they're like the buddiest cop shows of the recent past but with potentially sci-fi undertones and everyone's friendship with Gene is the most emotionally satisfying thing about it. Oh my god, I'm going to be the male version of the girl that didn't go there from Mean Girls, aren't I?

OH MAN I AM SO UNPREPARED FOR ASOIAF/GOT. I both love and hate that about the series, honestly. In the mean time, I will entertain my fantasies of Sansa and Arya being reunited and being badass royal family slaying sisters in the South and then meet up with Robb and Cat and Bran and everyone will be fine I refuse the reality of canon.

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
ALSO MAY BE WE SHOULD BE FRIENDS????

I JUST LOOKED AT YOUR PROFILE AND YOU LOVE BEING HUMAN AND OH MAN THAT SHOW IT JUST GIVES ME A LOT OF FEELINGS~ /eats cake

[identity profile] agnes-bean.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
BEING HUMAN OH GOD EVERY KIND OF FEELING.

Also, look at our icons right now.

Which is to say: Yes, let's be friends.

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I MISS MY OT4 SO MUCH BUT AT THE SAME TIME I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR SO THAT THEY CAN RIP ME APART AGAIN BECAUSE TOM IS THE VERY BEST AND HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH HAL IS SO ADORABLE AND I AM PREPARED FOR ALL OF THE FEELINGS

This show may be worse to me in the emotional dickery department than Supernatural.

[identity profile] agnes-bean.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Tom and Hal's friendship is my favorite new thing from this TV season. Well ... one of two favorite new things, anyway. So great. I just want them to be happy. Is that too much too ask? (Answer: with this show, probably...)

[identity profile] frankenshane.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's one of mine too, it's actually part of what kept me invested in the show after I realized that Annie would be limited to just taking care of Eve unless the episode was primarily about Eve. Don't get me wrong, I love that she loved Eve and I understand why she was so attached to her, but she's so much more than just the mom figure, you know?
