*hangs head in shame* I aaaaaalways have to reread my stuff. Put it down. Come back and reread it again. Repeat.

Because SOMEHOW, I have NO IDEA HOW, my tenses just fucking UP AND CHANGE mid sentence. I do not know how I do this, it's not conscious thought, but every fucking time. It's why I always beta, rebeta, and then get someone else to beta because invariably there's a sneaksy sentence in there that's in present tense while the rest of the fic is past tense.

Me too! I'll start out past, then I'll read back over and realise that somehow it's become present tense by the end. Or vice versa. It's the first thing I check for in editing, and my beta knows my problem so it's the first thing she checks for too.
