This secret confuses me. First you say you helped your cousin out by pointing out good sites etc in fandom to go to, but then you say fandom is embarrassing and you wish your cousin wasn't in it. So....are you still involved in fandom? Because posting a secret here and still knowing the sites to rec makes it seem that you are, but then you go bashing it. Mixed signals.

I think OP is saying they're embarrassed their cousin is in a particular fandom, even though OP used to be, too, which is pretty hypocritical. Just let the kid like what they like, same way you did. There are things I grow out of and wonder how I enjoyed them, but I never spite them or their remaining fans. It's me who's changed, not everyone else. :I
