TBH, I meant the series OP writes for, not the fic. I assume they wouldn't want to out themselves.

I think the image they chose is interesting, I haven't read anything set in Istanbul/Constantinople in a long time and IIRC, I have not read anything where the entire story takes place there.

I'm not the OP, but the first thing I thought of when seeing the map background was Assassin's Creed. Definitely worth checking out, if you want to explore a historical Constantinople!

Not OP, but have you taken a look at Shoukoku no Altair? it's not historical per se but has a lot of similarities to that (strongly based off) and is actually a surprisingly good read.
