Notes:

If you or anyone you know in fandom writes poetry, check this out. You may be being plagiarized. Note: Please do NOT hassle the publishing company itself. They've agreed to pull the book; we're waiting for it to come down from all the eBook sites. We still don't know the entire contents of the book, though - or who else has been stolen from (there is a clear fandom-author connection, however).

All of the endings such tbh. I couldn't pick Control, which TIM had wanted to do, because how long can you control them for before they come back? I couldn't pick Synthesis, because like a lot of other commenters, I really detested the idea of choosing to rewrite the DNA of every single being in the galaxy against their will. I don't like Destroy because it kills EDI and the geth - the indoctrination theory is just that, a theory (for now). But we've been harping about destroying the Reapers for 3 games, so it seemed the more.. natural choice? The second time I beat the game I had enough war assets to keep Shepard alive in the Destroy ending; I really just want to see what happens in the ending DLC with that save.

Even if the indoctrination theory is totally wrong I'd still find it easy to believe that the little ass was lying through his teeth about Destroy killing EDI and the geth, just because to me it seemed like he clearly would really rather still have his "solution" available on the backburner somewhere if the need for them ever arose again and threatening allies seems like the easiest way to dissuade someone who spent half a suicide mission motherhenning their squad instead of heading for the Omega 4 relay and getting on with things.

And, even if it's sad, just like every other person involved in the war EDI and the geth knew that they might have to die to see the reapers stopped. They couldn't have known it would happen like that, but at least Shepard knew that they'd been prepared for the possibility going in. Which makes it a less repugnant moral choice than synthesis, IMO.
