ext_81845: amuro ray from mobile suit gundam, in his underwear, from the doan's island episode (WTF?!)

I could be wrong, but the artist who did X isn't even with the group anymore, is she? CLAMP is a group of several artists and writers, they don't use the same artist on every title (for example, the artist that did X did Wish and Legal Drug I believe, while another artist did Card Captor Sakura and Chobits)

Personally I like the CCS/Chobits artist but her work isn't suited to X

You are wrong (i don't mean it in a mean way). The group officially formed in 1989 -I believe- and since then they have always been the same four people: Ohkawa (the writer), Mokona (the main artist), Nekoi (the second artist) and Satsuki (the coffe girl xD). However they did change their names circa 2003/2004, to change them back to the previous ones a few years ago.
X, CCS and Chobits were drawn by Mokona, while Wish (I'm not sure about this one) and Legal Drug (this one DEFINETELY) were drawn by Nekoi. xxxHOLiC was drawn by both of them.

My CLAMP knowledge might be a bit rusty because I kinda cut my ties with them when TRC finished (I hated the "ending"), howeverI believe that everything I said was right xD

X/Tokyo Babylon and stuff like CCS and Kobato just look so different though, I didn't have any idea it was the same artist

So it's just a rumor that one of the artists left the group? Or at least did a manga without CLAMP's involvement?

Each manga has its tone: X and Tobabi are darker, plus they were released in the early 90s (well, X was released through all the decade). CCS and Kobato are all fluffy. And Kobato was released in the 2000's. 2005 or so.
I never even heard that rumor. I did heard that Mokona had hurt her hand. But that's about it.

There is ONE manga that is done by a former artist, I believe. I just, for the life of me, cannot remember the manga name. D:

*googled it*

Hyper Rune by Tamayo Akiyama!! She has the most, recognizable CLAMP style artwork I think. Or at least, I remember the Magic Knight Rayearth-esque physiques and eyes when I saw that series so long ago in the bookstores.

But looking at wikipedia, she left a year before MKR came out, so....she probably didn't work on that title or X, though X was in the beginning before she left so...who knows?

But yes, they have has various other people besides those four work with them, especially in the late 80s and during teh 90s, but many of them left, thus leaving it the main 4 we know if today.

I thought it was like… different main artists for some titles? Because even in the newer stuff, Kobato looks so different than xxxHolic to me. But that's just something I heard and I have no backing except my own, "oh, yeah, I can see that, that totally makes sense."
