I advocate a scenario where a portal suddenly opens up in the middle of a story and every single character ever pops out of it, all grumbling at Reed Richards for accidentally whisking them all off into another dimension with his bizarre quantum physics-y teleportation experiments. Then they all freeze with shock as they realize that they've actually been gone for years instead of hours and the entire earth has been overrun with LMDs engineered by Norman Osborn for his own amusement.

DC has ruined those for me. And making a new series? MA was the best around and it was cancelled, while Ultimates survives and is only good when Reed IS the villian.
