He's doing so well with that part. It's interesting seeing non-book readers react cos even though I knew what was going to happen something about actually seeing the end of the latest episode made it worse, and I knew it was coming. I'm getting more of a sense of how conflicted he is from Alfie's performance than I did with the book, maybe because in the books the expression of regret didn't come until later in the narrative. Anyway, I was speaking to a non-book reader who hates him so much now that they said "I want him to die...actually what's worse than death?" - I had to sit on my hands and not say a thing!

Yes. The way Alfie plays him as being caught up in the momentum of his own actions slays me. He's gotten steadily more hysterical and panicked as his time at Winterfell goes on, like he knows he's in deep shit but still thinks has to come out on the other side and "prove" something.

Yeah, foreknowledge of what's going to happen makes watching Theon veeeeeeeeery interesting. I had to bite down on my thumb when I was watching with a friend who hasn't read it to avoid saying anything when she made a prediction about how things will go.
