TOTALLY. I'm used to toning down my accent when I go outside the province, but I didn't think I'd moderated it that much. But homg, it was so FUNNY. I'd say "no, Canadian" and they'd all but pinwheel backward with "OMG OMG OMG" looks on their faces. :p

I experience that a lot (I'm from Alberta, so no distinct accent for moi); whenever I go traveling outside of Canada people always assume I'm American. Until I politely correct them and I get to watch a weird transformation wherein their faces completely open up and they get a heck of a lot nicer.

...Though my flatmates in England immediately guessed I was Canadian because of my accent and my vocabulary, so idk.
