Yep. I somehow don't even have the same accent as my sister, and we've lived together for pretty much my whole life. Accents as funny like that. They're one of my favourite areas of linguitics to poke at. I kinda feel you on that. I'm the only person I know who says 'y'all.' Unironically, yet.

My dad was from New York and my mom's from Colorado so even though I was born and raised in Texas/Oklahoma I didn't *sound* like a southern stereotype...to me. Everyone in Ohio was in a big ol' hurry to correct me when I moved there, though. Frankly I didn't even notice I said y'all until people pointed it out to me lol.

Pfff, my family's been in Texas for...geez, 140 years on one side, longer on the other...and yet I get told I don't sound 'texan enough' by people from out of state. -_-;; People never satisfied. There's nothing wrong with y'all...it's a perfectly good replacement for the non-existant second person plural.
