OP here...no, that's not me. :)

After I posted this I discovered stanlovespeggy.tumblr.com, so it looks like this ship is more popular than I had thought!

I'm actually fine with them remaining bros...I really just want more interaction between them, so I don't care in what way as long as it's fun and positive and we keep getting to see Stan in his tight clothes. Man has a nice assphysique, is what I'm saying. :D

Ugh, oh hell no. I agree he's gotten better to the point where he and Peggy being friends makes sense, but his characterization is slim- what have we learned about him this season that we didn't know last season?

On a related note, I REALLY don't understand the hate that Abe gets- especially from the Peggy/Stan fans, who have no right to use the rocky beginning of Abe and Peggy's relationship as an excuse when Stan's treatment of her was a lot ruder. Both relationships have improved, why are the Peggy/Stan fans so insistent that Abe should get drafted and killed in Vietnam. Want them to break up, whatever, but that's really extreme!

despite my dislike of abe, i certainly don't think that he should be killed, but i'd disagree that his relationship with peggy has improved. if anything, it seems like it was a relationship born mostly out of physical attraction/sex, but now that they're trying to make it more long-lasting, there are a lot of obstacles that seem possibly permanent (particularly her devotion to her job, and his failure to understand that). despite his '60s liberal idealism, abe also falls under the banner of most liberal men of the time, who may have been forward-thinking when it came to racism, but failed spectacularly when it came to sexism.

stan is by no means perfect, and obviously has flaws of his own, but i do think, based on what we've seen, he and peggy would be a much better match. mainly because her work is her life, and he understands and doesn't begrudge her for it. (then again, this is mad men, and peggy has terrible luck with men, so even if they DID get together there'd probably end up being some terrible non-reconciliatory problem between them, anyhow)
