ALSO she wasn't just there to be The Token Female and flirt with / be flirted with by every male character (I was so, so, so glad to see that). While there was some romantic subtext (and text) between her and Hawkeye, it wasn't done in a way that invalidated her prior characterization, and it was all very clearly on her terms. I loved that.

This comment, 100% this. (A huge part of the reason I loved BW is that she had her thing with Hawkeye which was adorable and all that but it didn't define her entire character!)

So totally agreed, omg. It was one of my Favorite Things (which is maybe very sad, but considering the state of the movie industry.. yeah). I loved their relationship and I loved the way it was portrayed. Just, amazing.

In my opinion there was basically no flaw in Black Widow. She was amazing. And oh god, I need icons of her, lol.

Yes. I loved the lack of subtext in her interactions with the guys. She just got to be a character and a part of the team like the rest of them. And her relationship with Hawkeye (whatever they choose to do with it) did not define her. It was a great, supportive relationship.
