She just focused on dramatic facial expressions. There was no way in hell I was to believe she was an amazing spy of some sorts. She was awful. And a Russian accent would have been nice.
This. The thing with Ms Johnasson, is that the more famous she gets, her acting skills deteriorate (yeah, people are going to harp on Golden Globe and Tony noms and I'll tell you about star power versus talent and how in lots of cases, the twain rarely meet).
I would have been happy with even a vaguely European accent (hard to describe, but it's there) and Scar Jo couldn't even be bothered. She was so American, and just... Scar Jo in a costume. She had such a good role and Vicky Christina Barcelona'd it.
