This so freaking much. When I was around 13 or 14 I woke up to one of my older brother's friends in my room at around two in the morning. He "wanted to talk." I feel extremely lucky that he left when I told him to, and considering shit I know the fucker did to other girls later, I still regret not going and waking up my dad, or having the courage to tell my parents about it that morning.

Waking up to someone in your room uninvited no matter who it is is not fun, and it certainly is not romantic.

Glad you managed to get out of it, though.

When you read these books, you REALLY need to understand what is okay in real life and what isn't. If I ever have a kid and they express an interest in reading the books, I'm not going to tell them no (because I don't believe in censoring books like that, although I may attempt to make them wait 'till they're in their teens), but after they finish them we are going to sit down and have a VERY long discussion about relationships and things you want to watch out for.
