Granted, they are. And granted, the purist who insists 616 canon must be applied without wiggle room? Also a moron who needs to be judged. Marvel has had retcons, it's not that ridgid itself. That said, there's some obvious parallels between movie and comicverse and the main essence of these characters is taken from the comics, Marvel has been very good about that staying faithful. So what we know about universe 616 can be applied to universe 199999 in a general sense. Maybe the stuff Marvel doesn't have could see some off character shit, but it's safe to say that, for example,

that Samuel Sterns is not going to be a giant musclebound abomination looking thing if he's used in the next hulk movie. Anybody who put his name into google would know what Hulk fans know about what they were doing with that and what they were setting up. If he's back, he's going to look a lot like what your google search will turn up. And I'd put money down on that.

Using a less obscure example form the most recent movie, when somebody starts speculating

Who this motherfucker might be and how he relates to Loki, without doing the very simple legwork, judgement is forthcoming. And there are some pretty obvious things we can assume about him from what we know from the comics. Somebody who then ignores others telling them this is probably an idiot.
