The way I look at it, if you need a John to your Sherlock, you're essentially needing someone that will care about you, and support you, and most of all believe in you when you need it!

IMO Twilight is really THAT bad (I read the first three books after being told the series got better. no.). And I've read enough snippets of 50 Shades of Gray (tampon scene! =D) that even though I haven't read i I can tell the writing isn't the best.

Idk. I agree that you can't judge something until you experience it, but just from the way that people react to the books I think you can say that you dislike what the books are. Or you can make an informed decision from people you trust and decide that the books aren't for you.

That makes sense, I guess. Korra feels a lot more rooted in technology and is a much more modern society than A:TLA, which could definitely be off-putting.

God, this got such high recs all over tumblr - which should have said something right there, that's 14 year old girls who wouldn't know good shit if it slapped them in the face - so I went to read it and I couldn't. I had to stop before the first chapter was finished. What garbage fic. So much better in this fandom.

That being said, I'm glad it helped you. Good to know something good came from it.

I don't know the actor, but he looks much closer to Ramsay's book decsription than many other actors I've seen suggested for him. People who want to see Cillian Murphy as him offend my delicate sensibilities as a Cillian fan, lol.

I...agree. Completely. At this point the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a massive, sprawling, beautiful thing. Even if it wasn't, enjoy what you enjoy.

I'm also hanging out in either the wrong (make that right?) parts of fandom, because I haven't seen it said. Lots of people trying to poke movie fans to read the comics in order to enrich their experience, but never anyone saying the movie fans were lesser.
