You are quoting specific storylines here though. Now, that does speak to the canon, obviously, the movies don't start with exactly how the comics are now, nor should they. But in their overall personalities, I think the movies have gotten thigns pretty damn right.

Banner is alive, and Hulk's always had a sliding scale in the IQ poitns. Cap did have a fish out of water peroid. The present Loki is a re-incarnation of the previous one. The first loki is what the movie character is based on, obviously, and he did have quite a few stories that showed he was more then just a meglomanical villian, and that he and Thor weren't always enemies.

Well, yes, but I was thinking more along the lines that if a movie-only fan picks a current issue of any of the titles involved, they're not going to find the same characters he or she saw on the movie, personality wise. In the case of the Avengers, I think it's not even the same team.

ETA: Other than that, yeah, you're right. If we talk about the beginning of the characters and their main essence... the movies are very good. Even better than some of the current writers.

I will forever be slightly sulky that no mention was ever made in the movies of that one myth in which Loki gets Thor to dress like a woman.

...Just piping in.

There was. Remember in Thor's movie when a frost giant says "Hello Princess" to him?

Different anon. Oh really? That's brilliant :D
