No, no it doesn't.

But if you are one of the ones that starts telling us you "know" the characters and how they'd react in general, or offer stupid head canon explanation for a question we all know the answer to (and granted, might not be the same in the movie, but which is more likely, what's actually been done or your moronic guess?), expect the judgement of a million smelly nerds.

Otherwise, you apparently met some assholes.

Why can't someone "know" the movie characters without reading the comics?

They're kind of, you know, different characters.

It's possible, but always back up your statements with verifiable information from the movies. Quote scenes, then comment on your interpretations from there.

Well, yes. That goes for any interpretations for anything.

My point being, don't make up stuff out of whole cloth, and don't do so and then claim it's from the comics if you've never read them.

(This can apply to anything in any fandom. I wouldn't presume to be an expert on the Unicron Trilogy in Transformers, because I've never watched it, or an expert on TF comics, because I've read almost none of them, but I consider myself passingly knowledgeable about the G1 cartoon and movieverse.)

Granted, they are. And granted, the purist who insists 616 canon must be applied without wiggle room? Also a moron who needs to be judged. Marvel has had retcons, it's not that ridgid itself. That said, there's some obvious parallels between movie and comicverse and the main essence of these characters is taken from the comics, Marvel has been very good about that staying faithful. So what we know about universe 616 can be applied to universe 199999 in a general sense. Maybe the stuff Marvel doesn't have could see some off character shit, but it's safe to say that, for example,

[warning for those who legit don't want to know: probable minor spoilers below for the people ]

that Samuel Sterns is not going to be a giant musclebound abomination looking thing if he's used in the next hulk movie. Anybody who put his name into google would know what Hulk fans know about what they were doing with that and what they were setting up. If he's back, he's going to look a lot like what your google search will turn up. And I'd put money down on that.

Using a less obscure example form the most recent movie, when somebody starts speculating

Who this motherfucker might be and how he relates to Loki, without doing the very simple legwork, judgement is forthcoming. And there are some pretty obvious things we can assume about him from what we know from the comics. Somebody who then ignores others telling them this is probably an idiot.
