'Traditionally handsome' has never done much for me. It's not that I never crush on someone with those kinds of looks, but I've always preferred my ladies and gentlemen a bit quirkier in the looks department. And Jason Segel is totally my ideal person, and that's nothing to do with what he looks like (although he's totally adorable).

I'm sorry you're running into this problem in fandom! I've always found fandom to be filled with people with lots of the love for the not-so-traditional.
