I did the same thing. I was mildly curious, wandered over then backpeddled the hell out of there. If that's what I have to do to get in (and still be ?squibbed?) then I'm not nearly 'hardcore' enough to participate afterwards.

Only about a quarter of the people who apply get squibbed, I would say. Really, it comes down to this: do you think it's fun to read about people and sort them into houses? If so, you would enjoy being a member. If not, then you wouldn't. It's not fun for everyone, but a lot of people think it is fun. Some people are disappointed they can only fill out the questionnaire once, even.
