Oh god, I was part of that community for a while. The hardcore-ness of it is ridiculous... and the amount of time they expect you to spend on being active in the community is just... it's more time than I spend on the internet entirely for a day.

That takes like... 20 minutes, tops.

I don't mean the bare minimum of being considered active, but the amount of activities that are "suggested" you take part in. Contests, 'parties' etc... it just seemed like more work than anything else to be considered a part of the community. It's just my opinion.

Well yeah... there are a fair amount of things available to do if you want, but it's all optional? Idk. Maybe it depends on what your you are sorted into because different houses can have different vibes, but I've never felt pressured to participate in things that I didn't want to do. But like... if you want to make friends in the comm, you do have to comment on posts and participate in things because how else are you going to get to know people?

Well, you could join a book club and choose never to go to the meetings either, because they're not required, but then what's the point?
